If my students have a carpet to work at, this will allow them to have a comfortable place to sit during whole group work. Many of them wear glasses and need to be close to me during whole group instruction.
This will make a difference for them and allow them to be focused and comfortable and not sitting so close to each other.
They will be more comfortable with a space where they can get their work done. This carpet will be in the classroom all year long. The students will have a year long of learning on this carpet.
