In my classroom, children learn through the use of the workshop model. During reading, writing, and math, students learn new strategies and skills, practice them independently as well as collaboratively, and review and extend their learning with me during small groups. I would like to respect my students' uniqueness as learners by offering them more options for flexible seating. Currently, we only have traditional chairs in our classroom. A great first step for us is to change the chairs at the table we typically use for small groups. If my students had Wobble Chairs at the table, they would be better able to attend to the content, thus increasing their learning and their ability to connect new concepts to ones that they have previously learned.
