I believe in creating a classroom culture that resembles a family. I teach students in the front of the room on the floor to establish this family like environment. Teaching students together like this helps students to stay engage, decreases classroom disruptions and promotes a culture for learning.
Having a carpet for my students to sit on while learning will enhance our learning environment by providing the students with a clean area to learn. The carpet will make the environment warm and welcoming. I know my students will be thrilled to have a new carpet to sit on when listening to read alouds or participating in reader's theatre experiences.
