The students in my classroom are on a variety of reading levels. It is important to have books that are on the students' individual levels. Having a leveled non-fiction library will allow students to read books independently to expand their knowledge independently. Literacy is a key skill for these students.
Many students in this class have difficulty finding books that interest them that they are able to read. Many of the books on their independent reading level are written for younger students and do not hold their interest. The leveled non-fiction library and the use of CD players to read audiobooks will give the students access to information and great stories.
