Currently we have a listening center that consists of 1 book, 1 CD and 4 headphones. Since our students are young and still learning to share, we need to have 4 books in order for each student to learn print concepts before entering Kindergarten.
The Listening center is a fantastic tool in teaching young children to love to read. We want our students to enjoy reading! When they listen closely, with no distractions, they are building critical thinking skills that will later allow them to respond to their reading and talk about it with friends. This listening center also help them with print concepts such as tracking and page turning.
