I have always believed in the power of a flexible seating classroom. The students are free to move about and work where they are most comfortable. Giving students the power of choice, helps them feel valued as well as holds them accountable.
This year, we aren't sure what the classroom will look like but I do know, keeping that safe, comfortable vibe is important to me.
These materials will help my students still have comfortable options for seating when doing their work while maintaining safety because there will be enough for all students. They will have their own set of markers, crayons, and colored pencils to choose how to be creative in their work. We will be able to continue center work because students will not have to share materials.
Representation and Inclusion are important to me and I want to make sure that all students are represented and appreciated in our classroom. Adding these books to our classroom library will help me continue that and make it better. We will read books that show all types of children, families, and people. Students will know that all are welcome and loved in our classroom!
