This project will make learning to read more exciting and accessible to our special education students with special needs. It would provide hands on reading materials that reinforce learning and generalizes across the curriculum and school environment. The Hooked On Phonic Program is a great way to add a audio, visual and rhythm to reading while reinforcing phonological awareness. More specifically, it would provide an unique method of teaching students sounds that letters and letter combinations make, helping them to learn how to be able to deconstruct an unfamiliar word and be able to pronounce it. This project will reach 70 students with Individual Education Plans to reinforce their learning.
