These materials will help my students understand standards in multiple contexts. When teaching a standard, students need multiple books and resources in order to understand the standard. By using these books, it would help my students see main idea, character traits and other standards from different perspectives. By using different books, the students can see that almost all books have many standards in them; they just have to pull them out. For example, the book, "Snowflake Bentley" teaches character development through turn and talk activities, modeling the story reflection and extension activities such as Readers Theater. You can also teach character development through "Martin's Big Words", and "The Gardener".
