As I have mentioned before, I work with first and second grade students with significant reading deficits in a tiny room that was formerly a storage closet. I want to transform this small space into a beautiful "mini-classroom"! I feel it is important for my hard-working students learn in an environment that is bright, colorful, and welcoming! I have added some colorful classroom décor but this little room needs MORE! By adding a rug, I hope to warm up the space. Additional colorful wall decorations will make my reading room a motivating place that any youngster would love to come to! This is important because my students leave their classrooms for thirty minutes each day to come to the reading room for intensive tutoring. My goal is for these students to have positive feelings about their daily visits to the reading room, which will positively impact their achievement!
