Many of my students will be the first to graduate high school and they also come from families where English is not the first language. So for them, reading for leisure is not always encouraged at home. It is my hope, that by creating a library for them in the classroom, with books they can read in French, it will foster a love of reading in general. I try to teach my students how enjoyable reading can be. So many of them love the stories we create in class and I want them to take what they have learned to another level by choosing what they read in class. For some, they will just love the idea of telling their friends that they are reading a book in French. For others, it will give them an entire new library of books to read and enjoy.

About my class
