My Project
These 20 soccer balls will be used to support the growth of my players. These balls will help us in allowing our players to be more one-to-one with their equipment, as it pertains to soccer balls. This is important for our players as it affords many of them more time each day to practice dribbling, juggling, and passing skills that many of them are learning for the first time. Not only does it allow them time to use the balls individually, but also in a pair or group setting that helps them build social skills that are required to be a good soccer player, teammate, and student.
My athletes come from a low socio-economic area. They are amazing athletes and despite the lack of equipment, go on to win the region most years. I want to return the favor by helping provide them with good equipment to support their hard work.
School sports, especially in middle school, are very important for the physical and mental growth of students. Being able to practice these skills with the balls provided here will help these students grow in ways that very few other activities could. These will also allow us to more comfortably lend balls to players that are less fortunate and do not have access at home.
