I teach middle school language arts and am working on fostering a love of reading in my students. My classroom has a comfy reading corner, and this year I've heard more "Can we PLEASE keep reading?!" questions than I ever have! We've run into a problem that I'm actually pretty excited about: we need more books!
My students are realizing that books can take them anywhere, and many of them are embracing the adventure. I'd really like to increase my classroom text selection to give my students more options and choices so that their love of reading can continue to grow. Feeding their curiosity with new literature will help to support my goals of creating globally-aware citizens, from our little corner of Alaska.
