Using Sphero robots in my classroom and in our 5th grade classes will allow our students to explore and engage with technology of today. My students love to use technology and are incredibly motivated when they get to try new things. I student taught with this group and they are the smartest group of young people I know. They love technology and I want to bring the world to them. By using Sphero robots in our classrooms, my colleagues and I can not only create engaging, interactive lessons for our students, but we can also let students create projects and teach each other, allowing them to practice real life skills. Sphero robots allow students to learn how to code, and are customizable to allow us to use them for hundreds of projects. In particular, we are interested in using them for our space unit, as that is a standard in 5th grade for NGSS. Sphero robots will allow our students to learn 21st century skills while creating and taking part in projects that will enhance their learning and expand their world.
