This year I started a book club in my kindergarten classroom to better support the reading needs of my students. I have a group of students that have already surpassed the end of the year reading goal for Kinder! Having a book club in my classroom helps keep my students motivated in expanding their reading skills. We are reading first-grade level books, non-fiction books, and other books they are interested in. They work on comprehension questions and writing tasks, book reports, and take a quiz at the end of each book. It's a hit! Now everyone wants to be in our book club and is therefore striving to pass the end of the year reading goal for kinder to be able to join.
