When you walk into a Special Education classroom, you might expect to see flash cards, various counters, manipulatives for patterns, a clock that teaches telling time, markers, colored pencils and multiple totes full of supplies. When you walk into my Special Education classroom, you see wooden pencils without a sharpener, crayons and a clock that hasn’t worked in years.
This year, as I work in two separate classrooms with students from Kindergarten to eleventh grade, I want to ensure they are finally getting the education they deserve in multiple fun ways! Through the transitions of multiple Special Education Teachers in multiple spaces, most teaching resources have been lost or destroyed.
Please consider helping fund my dream of a neatly organized cube storage system that allows the students to grab a cube storage full of totes that support each individual skill. Including two money organizing trays that neatly separate bills and coins just like a cash register would so that students may practice running their own till with realistic looking money!
