I teach at the lowest income school in Spokane, Washington. It ranks as one of the lowest income schools in the state and has many students with severe behavior and learning challenges.
Due to a loss of funding, next year our classrooms will have more students in them.
A typical classroom at my school has multiple busy students who need extra attention. Because of this change in funding, this number will only increase. The purpose of this project is to allow more opportunities for students to work around the room and get in movement while they work. The lap desks will allow them to be able to work around the room instead of just at their desks, and the wiggle stools and yoga ball will provide movement opportunities for kids while they are learning.
