By giving these students all of these materials, it allows the students to feel safe and comfortable in the classroom by having sensory items and supplies to meet the students’ needs. No student will have to worry that they need to ask for markers for a poster project or scissors and glue for a cut and paste activity. I want the students to all be provided the same opportunity in my classroom, regardless of what materials they are able to provide.
Funding this project will allow my low income students to focus on their learning and forget the stress of bringing items or materials. I want the students to feel at home in my classroom and the first step in that is to know that I am providing them with the basics and that they have everything they may need when they step through my doors.
