In working to achieve my goal of creating a warm and inviting environment, my classroom walls are filled with color and I work hard to be inviting to all my students, but seating in our room is a little cold and sterile. All students, including Pre-K and kindergarten, currently sit in chairs, unless we are playing a circle game or certain instruments and then they have to sit on the cold tile floor.
This classroom rug will bring us closer to reaching my goal of creating a warm and inviting classroom. Here students will be able to sit comfortably for music games, group work, read alouds, playing instruments, and much more. This rug will also provide a clear boundary for movement activities, and can even double as a game board. For my younger students this will becoming their primary seating location, allowing them to work on learning to be a part of our music community through songs, movements, and games.
