The materials I am requesting will provide more learning opportunities so that my students can explore and interpret the world around them through play. As a preschool teacher, I know that learning through play is the BEST way for young children to learn.
As children play, they are doing so MUCH more than just play. As they play, they develop academic, cooperative, social, and language skills which will help them not only be successful students as they continue to grow, but, also productive adults. Furthermore, for my students with delays in their cognitive and language skills, it is ideal to have real life objects in order to facilitate their overall communication and understanding. The materials I choose for this project resemble those that are commonly found in students' homes. Having real life objects allows them to make concepts more concrete and allows them to make connections and communication easier and faster.
