All students are familiar with different kinds of rocks. Some may even know that some rocks come from volcanoes. The use of this kit will help students gain, and fully understand, how this unique process works in changing the Earth. The students will be able to see the formation of igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks as they form through the rock cycle. I am excited that my students will be able to connect the processes used in the formation of these rocks in a visual way.
This hands-on experience will guide a deeper understanding and appreciation of how the Earth is changing daily and forming different rocks.
The specific kit chosen will help my students recognize that our Earth is in a continuous cycle that will never end. They will see first hand how each rock is connected to the formation of the other rock.
