More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education.
The students in our first-grade classrooms have gorgeous skin tones that vary in color and shade, but the traditional boxes of markers and crayons that they are required to bring to school don't quite capture those hues. Also, our kids' families don't have extra money to buy additional school supplies.
For our students to feel connected to their work, their drawings and creations need to look like them! Please help provide the supplies needed for our first-graders to help them feel included and accepted when they come into our classrooms.
