We will be reading and working on 3rd grade Language Arts while "Under the Sea". I have plenty of books and school supplies. But I also want my students to have a nice learning environment.
I want my students to feel comfortable and relaxed in their class room! For many of them, school is an outlet or place to escape.
The yoga mats will be used as additional flexible seating. Many of my students prefer to stretch out while reading or working on the computer. Flexible seating can be a life saver for our ADD/ADHD and ESE students through out a long school day. The dry erase Calendar will be posted by their mail boxes and updated every day with homework and important information. The book bins will organize our class room library. The pocket charts will display the daily schedule and group assignments for center work. I need the computer cart to project the lessons onto the front board and move around the room easily when assisting students. My class room is compact!
The other items listed are for decoration and enthusiasm. I want to hang the sheer mermaid style curtains and allow the sunlight to shine through. The netting will serve as our photo wall. Students feel more accepted when their photos and memories are in the room. I want the jellyfish lights for signaling silent reading times. The hanging mirror will hang from the front door. I will write encouraging compliments on the mirror for students to build confidence.
I've thought about each item on this list carefully. I'd really appreciate any bit of help in making this possible. I love my students and I want the very best for them. Thank you for your consideration and generosity!
