Hi, I am a veteran teacher moving from special education to a Kindergarten teaching position for the 2019-2020 school year. I am excited to meet my students and have a classroom that is ready for them to lean in.
By asking for organizational and learning materials, I hope to be able to have a classroom that students feel comfortable in, and create an environment that fosters smooth learning.
I plan to use the drawer systems as holding areas for student work and their individual supplies, kind of like their desk space that is personalized to them. I will use the dotted buckets as general supply organization for erasers, glue sticks, and pencils that can be accessed by students at any time.
One area of the classroom that I am the most excited about setting up is our reading corner. I love the idea of having a cozy reading spot, hence the tent, where students can comfortably practice their reading skills. I am also looking forward to having a few center activities for the students to practice number identification, letter matching, and counting skills. It would be great to have support in getting these materials into the classroom and be able to create the organizational flow that I am envisioning to start the school year strong. Thank you for considering donating to this project.
