I am seeking to fill my classroom library with diverse nonfiction books to enrich my students reading identities. Before now, my students tend to hover around the fiction section, but I am hoping to open their eyes to new possibilities. I want them to devour new books and recommend them to their friends, just as much as they do the fiction series.
Before becoming world changers themselves, I hope to provide my fiction-loving students with high-interest books about real people, real events, and real problems from our past, present and future. I am excited to show my students that the excitement that they read about in fiction books does, in fact, exist in the real world.
