At our new school each classroom will read the book, Only One You. Students will learn that we are all unique and when we all come together we make something very special. That is very appropriate to the beginning of the school year. All staff members and students are new to our school. We want to come together as unique individuals to create a special group that makes up our new elementary school.
After hearing the story each student will paint a rock to express their own individuality. We will put all those rocks together to create an outdoor path. It will show that when our uniqueness comes together we create something very special.
