Classroom pets are important because they create enthusiasm in students. They help students become more responsible and understand the natural environment in new and exciting ways. Pets like turtles can also give students the opportunity to learn about an interact with animals that they might not otherwise encounter.
Mikey and Donnie, our cherished class turtles, are in desperate need of more space. They are growing rapidly and need more room to swim, frolic, and grow. The turtles provide a calming presence for some of our special need students. The turtles are playful and interact with the kids on a daily basis.
They have quickly outgrown their current habitat and no longer provides adequate space for them to grow and thrive. A new 55 gallon aquarium will provide them with the room they need. Please consider donating to our students to help them keep our pets.
