Students will feel empowered by having some control of where and with whom they sit with daily. When the day begins, I will let each student pick a seating option for the day. It will be fun and exciting for them to be able to sit on the floor cushions, stools, or ball! It will allow them to change their location and position as needed. I think this will help with my classroom community, behavior management, and will also help with the comfort of my students. Many of my students have trouble focusing and flexible seating options will stimulate their sense of touch and allow for collaboration.
