My students are mostly low income children who have limited access to books and other resources. These students need access to additional resources such as books that they can borrow from the classroom to read and be read to at home.
As a first year teacher, I have not yet had the opportunity to build an extensive classroom library, which would be a great resource for the students in my classroom and their parents and guardians at home. If I were to be able to get these books, my students would have a better chance of succeeding in school this year and in their school career.
