Since I am a first-year teacher, I hope to provide materials my classroom needs to help support our warm, loving and learning environment. I want my students to feel comfortable as they walk into their classroom
By generously providing the classroom materials listed on my Donors Choose list, this will make a huge difference in our classroom. The rug will be put to amazing use throughout the school year. In addition, the bulletin board materials, clipboards, scissor caddy, hole puncher Crayola crayons, storage caddies, posters, and label maker will be put to excellent use. In the Philadelphia school district, teachers work hard to give their students the materials they need to succeed in the classroom. Unfortunately, these items are expensive, and we need help from generous donors who are amazing to do so for our kids.
The most important item on my list is the classroom rug. One of my favorite activities during my student teaching experience was having the students gather on the classroom rug for Read-A-Loud. Watching their faces as I read to them was my favorite time of the day. I believe reading to students helps enhance all of the learning skills they need to succeed in the classroom. The classroom rug donation will make a huge difference for my incoming third graders.
