My students are much like any other students. They are just begging to be curious. As a world cultures teacher, I want to be able to give them something marvelous to be curious about. My students have grown up in a culture full of buttons and screens and demand stimulation and interaction. I want to be able to have my student explore their curiosity, no matter their language, or their cultural background. My students are from a wide variety of backgrounds from displaced Haitians, who speak very little English, to Islamic Bosnians who have lived in the U.S. since they were in elementary school.
