Imagine walking into a classroom where 25 students are actively engaged in a writer's workshop. A small group of four to five students are peer conferencing at the front table. I'm conferencing with students on current writing. Some are working in their writer's notebooks. Others are on chrome books typing their papers on google classroom. But, I'm often interrupted by students telling me that their chrome book is not working. In one class I have to set up stations in order for all students to use chrome books. I simply don't have enough.
An effective writer's workshop can not be successful without the proper resources. Using chrome books gives me opportunities to give quick feedback, and the students can post comments I can respond to in a timely manner.
