This equipment will allow lessons and activities to be catered to students with disabilities unique interests, learning styles, and physical needs. Currently, students are using the same equipment as their general education peers. They struggle to catch, grasp, and find enjoyment in these activities because the equipment is not made for students at their skill level and abilities. They often become discouraged, frustrated, and lose interest in wanting to come to class when they cannot participate in activities because of our lack of equipment. This equipment will give students with disabilities the chance to find an activity they can enjoy for the rest of their lives, ensuring a healthy lifestyle throughout high school and beyond. They will be able to use all the equipment with ease, learn about new games, and interact with each other and their peer tutors while using this equipment. Having more equipment available at their fingertips will help keep adaptive PE from becoming mundane, and will allow students with disabilities to become excited about all things sports, health, and fitness related.
