My classroom is so bright and inviting, and we were extremely fortunate to receive donated books this summer. However, there is no dedicated place in our classroom for students to go to read. They're forced to go back to their desks where they've been working hard all day. I've always dreamed of having a reading nook in my classroom, where students can escape to and get lost in a great book! This project would allow me to create a welcoming reading corner, with our new books on display and a cozy area for lounging! They'd use this area when they've finished their work; during recess/snack time; or as a reading center. It will allow them to read for enjoyment as well as use our non-fiction library books to conduct research. The space created by these items will also be used in a small group instruction area.
