In preschool, the block center is one of the most frequently used centers. This is great because this center fosters hand-eye coordination, cooperation as students work together to build structures, the persistence as students try and retry to construct houses and towers and the ability to see themselves and different types of people in the accessories they are using.
The only issue is that over time, these materials start to get worn and need to be replaced. Funding for preschool has become tight at this time and these new blocks, including play people and vehicles, are items we need to continue to provide our students these experiences.
