Most of my students come from an economically disadvantaged background. Due to this fact, we supply students with all of their supplies needed for school. A majority of our budget goes to buy the basics for students (paper, pencils, folders, etc.). There isn't a lot of funding left to pay for additional resources for our curriculum. Over the years, a number of the headphone jacks on our laptops and headphones have stopped working. Since several components of the curriculum are computer based this creates a challenge. Additionally, we have limited access to novels outside of the provided curriculum.
These supplies will help fill in the holes in our classroom resources. Students will have access to an engaging literary classic and be able to utilize the online components of the curriculum, the way they were designed to be used.
