The students in my district don't have regular art classes and all art instruction must be supported in their home classroom. With these materials students will have easy and immediate access to art supplies that can integrate with their other subjects. Students will be able to cut tessellation patterns for a deeper understanding of math, create water-colored landscapes to support their visualization of literature, or even colored diagrams in science.
Students will be able to support their learning of the elements and principals of art. No student should graduate to sixth grade without a thorough understanding and appreciation of the artistic world around them, and what better way to appreciate that world than to create pieces themselves.
