I choose specifically audio books because I have a beautiful listening center in my classroom, but I currently own no audio. I would love to give my class a wide array of books for them to listen to while I am working in small groups.
A listening library will allow all of my readers to access books, even if they are above their reading level. I have multiple students in my room who struggle with reading and as a result they never choose to read on their own, my hope is that a listening library will change that. By listening to stories and following along in the text, my struggling readers will hear what fluency sounds like and start to recognize more words.
