This colorful rectangle seating rug will encourage focus for my kinder students. Having an assigned color takes the indecision out of where to sit so students can quickly be ready for learning. Students will each have their own rectangle boundary which will help eliminate distractions.
Shortening transition time adds valuable minutes to student engagement and learning. They meet multiple times throughout the day on the carpet and this rug will help kids quickly find their own spots on it or around the outside of it. When students know the routine and expectations we can move right into learning. This rug has other benefits as well, as I can also utilize the colors to make small groups, encourage "turn and talk" neighbors, and dismiss students to other tasks.
