Our school serves 1200 students in grades 10-12 in a low-income area. Students use the nurse's office for first aid supplies that they cannot get at home from a parent or guardian. We also serve a large homeless population of teens.
These items would greatly serve our student population who use the nurse's office as a first-line treatment stop instead of home or their primary care provider. Female students use a large amount of feminine hygiene products. Some local churches also provide clothing for our students. These supplies would be used as a method of primary treatment and prevention to ensure a better quality of health for our teens and adolescents.
