I am asking for a stand-up desk because I often have students who just need a place to stand and keep working. This would allow students a place to work standing up on SAT/ACT practice activities as well as project work with a partner. This desk would also provide the flat surface to place a laptop for work on computer reading programs such as Reading Plus or Khan Academy. I plan to allow students to take turns using the stand-up desk and provide as an incentive to keep working without disruption. Having the tall chair as well will allow for the times a student actually wants to sit and continue with their reading assignments.
