The use of calculators is almost a daily activity in my math classes. Calculators can be wonderful tools, if used in an appropriate setting and in an appropriate way. If you use a calculator, however, to show the pattern of addition and multiplication, it can help enhance number sense and build a stronger foundation for multiplication facts. Calculators allow more students to solve problems and appreciate the power and value of mathematics in the world today. When used appropriately, calculators enhance learning and thinking, they do not replace it. By donating to my project, you will not only help to improve and increase student math skills, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
