Our schoolwide library is outdated and nonfunctional. So I am hoping to build a diversified and great classroom library that can meet the needs of all the students this 2020.
I want my students to be able to choose their books to read in class so they can feel successful in reading. This is so important, to allow children the choice of what to read at their level. My students' reading levels span from DRA Instructional A to L and our classroom library lacks enough variety of appropriate levels. Children need to read books at their level and their interest. Many of our books are outdated, old and just not fun to read. I want my students to develop a love of literacy at this crucial beginning stage in their education.
