I teach all elementary grades - kinder through 6th in a special education resource room classroom. About 1/4 of those students, struggle to sit still (especially my 6th graders!). I hope to provide them a seat that they can wiggle in SAFELY as they learn. This will help create a greater learning environment because they won't be distracted by their impulse to move. My students have big emotions and many times still don't know how to handle those big emotions. The "Train Your Dragon..." books are a great tool to help them learn how to deal with all that is social and emotional learning through a child-friendly medium. The same is true for the games I would like funded in this project. Children learn best through play. These games are at the perfect age for all of my students to be able to learn and enjoy.
