The students I work with come to me daily for not only academics but social skills as well. These students struggle to work cooperatively with one another because they often don't see it modeled in the community.
These students need the opportunity to learn rules, boundaries and not only is it great to win but it is okay to lose. I am asking that the board games be provided so they can opportunity to experience that. I constantly teach my students to think outside of the box and these boxes of games will do just that by challenging their thinking. I have seen first hand when students learn how to play games, they take what they learn and apply that to other parts of their life as well.
