Through the use of books, my students will be able to learn self control, emotional regulation, and basic social emotion skills. Throughout our day, I have begun to weave in mindfulness and social emotional lessons to help teach my students about respect, empathy, self regulation, as well as self coping skills. With these skills, students are more able to access instruction, as well as be functioning members of society. Through the use of yoga, meditation, and breathing techniques, I have seen an improvement in my students overall behavior, but they still need to be explicitly taught about appropriate social emotional skills. Through the use of these books, I can help my students sharpen their social emotional skills in order for them to be the best versions of themselves.
