I will be a first-year teacher. This project will help provide a welcoming environment for my students when they return in the fall. These materials will provide organization, engage students, and provide them an inviting place to learn. The caddies will be used on their desks to hold their supplies. The decor will be bright and inviting. There will be posters to brighten up the students' day. Also as a resource for the students to get their information on class rules and also ELA information. I will be using the first-day Jitters book as part of my first day of school lessons to help the students get comfortable with an ice breaker. The mailbox station will be a place students will go to get items they need to take home and each student will have their own personal box. The laminating machine will be used to create reusable ELA games for stations. The students will also be learning about graphic organizers for their writing and the book will be used as a tool to give students options on which style graphic organizer they are most comfortable using. Expo markers will be used in the classroom to provide information on the whiteboard for students who learn better visually. The pencils and sharpener will be provided for the students who do not have their own. All of these items together will make the student environment inviting. They will make a positive difference in functionality and ease of education in my new classroom.
