While remote learning is not the way I would want to teach, the safety of my students and coworkers is the most important. I look forward to giving my students the best education I can in a remote setting.
My teaching has always focused on interacting with the material - (for example, building marshmallow towers in economics or debating primary sources in history) and remote learning drastically changes everything. The amount of work to make digital manipulatives, Google slides, interactive activities, and other resources is above and beyond my time and ability. By purchasing this gift card, I will be able to purchase exceptional tools to use in my remote teaching, and by the best teacher I can be this year. I don't expect the tools to do all of my teaching, but they'll allow me to focus on creating community, giving exceptional feedback to my students, and generally be a great teacher without overwhelming myself.
