In art class, we are known for using many different supplies and papers, ranging from small sizes to some that are quite large. This year, however, things are a bit different in art classes around the country as many art classes are being done in ways where students cannot share supplies.
Considering that we are currently working in a virtual setting with plans to become hybrid, a sketchbook would help students in terms of organization as well as supplying them the basics to still be able to show their creative side. We are also aware of the fact that not all of our students have the same materials. By supplying each student with a sketchbook, students will at least have the basics of what they need to create their masterpieces. This will allow for students to keep all of their projects in one place, not having to worry about losing or ruining their art.
Students in our classes are highly engaged in the arts as we are an Arts Integrated school. All of our specialist classes - Art, Dance, Music, Digital Literacy, and Gym - are connected to the literacy that students complete with their homeroom teachers. This not only encourages creativity but also allows for them to build upon skills learned when reading in class.
Please consider helping the deserving and talented students of our school with basic needs to still be able to learn and enjoy the arts.
