In this shift to distance learning, my main goal is to keep my students interested and happy in school. This will increase success! I learned last spring about the pros and cons of online class. Although there many internet resources we use, staring at a screen all day can lead to eye-strain and apathy. Also, families lack a variety of reading materials at home. Time For Kids will give a screen alternative and lift my students up with high-interest nonfiction in their hand. Students will read selected articles and respond to comprehension questions. They will respond online and receive feedback from others on their responses. This will lead to effective discussion via video chatting about the articles.
