Students in our school are learning new social emotional skills. They are learning how to identify emotions in self and others. As a part of our curriculum, they test out and identify sensory input tools to help them regulate emotions.
Sensory tools are key to helping students regulate their emotions and stay ready to learn at school. Students learn how to recognize what their bodies are feeling during different emotions. These sensory tools, like weighted vests, chewy necklaces, and wobble seats, will help the students give their bodies the movement and sensory input that is needed. Learning how to use these tools will empower my students to self-soothe and become ready to learn.
